CHEESE MANAKISH

CHEESE  MANAKISH:
INGREDIENTS:         ( serves 1 )

100  g  akawi cheese, cut into large chunks and
              soaked in water for 3 hours to reduce
              its salt content
100  g flour
1  g yeast
5  g  sugar
2  g  salt
3  g sesame paste

METHOD:
  • Remove cheese from water and chop it finely.
  • Mix together flour, yeast, sugar and salt to make a smooth dough. Flatten the dough to make a thick disc. Cover with a damp cloth and set aside for 2 hours.
  • Sprinkle cheese over the prepared dough and spoon sesame paste on top. Cook in a preheated oven at 280C till a golden brown crust forms on top. Remove from heat and serve it immediately.
