CARAMELISED TOAST WITH CREAM:
INGREDIENTS: ( serves 8 )
2 cups milk
1 cup thick cream
1/3 cup corn flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp zahr water
Caramel syrup:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
12 - 14 bread pieces
Topping:
1/2 cup fried pine nuts
1 cup ground pistachio
METHOD:

Caramel syrup:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
12 - 14 bread pieces
Topping:
1/2 cup fried pine nuts
1 cup ground pistachio
METHOD:
- You will need 8 small size stoneware dishes.
- Grease with butter, sprinkle some ground pistachio inside each plate. Keep aside.
- Cream mixture: In a medium saucepan heat milk, cream, corn flour and sugar, until it boils. Simmer 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add zahr water. Keep aside.
- Caramel syrup: Heat sugar in saucepan; until sugar is golden brown,add water and lemon juice gradually and carefully. Simmer 2 -3 minutes. Add zaher water. Keep it on low fire.
- Cut the brown edges around the bread slices; place them in the syrup gradually while pressing the bread with fork until the bread is soaked well with syrup.
- Divide the soaked bread over the plates in a thin layer, spread cream over the bread. Cover with cling film and chill until cold 1-2 hours.
- Sprinkle with a lot of pine nuts and pistachio. Serve cold.
